People are pretty hype about Noefure and more importantly Crossick even after their respective "canonicities", so I don't think that argument really holds. Many of the people who draw art and /u/post about them talk as if they're already canon.

I don't disagree with you, but I do still think that a lot of the excitements from shippers specifically comes from the journey, not the destination. The most popular ships I've seen from various fandoms typically aren't canon or we don't see much of them in the source material.

TakaMori fucking blows because there's nowhere to go with it. We were already at the end-game the second the ship started. Kiara didn't have her 'feelings' awaken to her over the course of months, Mori was always "Uhhh well she's annoying... I mean uh she's nice! Uhhh I mean she's annoying!" and there's no way to get past that point unless they unironically do hook up in the background.
I fucking hate this shit because it's so fucking boring and the only way to spice it up would be to start writing it like a wrestling/soap show. Problem is that Mori and Kiara would essentially have to feed eachother constant info about little things they could say 'they saw' on each others channel to get jealous/angry. The problem you have once you start doing that though is that people are fucking insane and would for sure rrat the fuck out of this and make it way worse. Having fans who directly interact with you live and influence you to some degree makes it almost impossible because someone will be retarded and do something extreme or you'll just get an unruly chat that won't shut up when you want to move away from the story line.

Please bear with me. I know this post is long, but I would like some legitimate conversation about this. I've been a Kiara anti since debut, but in reality I've never watched a full stream and only watched clips and been in anti threads. Nearly everything about her I would criticize. I hate her original outfit and also am not that fond of her new one. Her voice is like nails on a chalkboard. Her attitude and extremely self-centered personality makes me cringe. I can't stand Takamori. KFP's perpetual victim mentality and falseflagging makes it hard to even view her in a positive light, even by her fans.

However, I am feeling conflicted right now. I found myself empathizing with her a bit for how she was treated recently by both Cover and /vt/. Cover really should have waited a bit to announce IRyS, and if the rrats are to believed, I can completely understand why Kiara may have some minor gripes with them over it. Despite that I would do the same thing just a week ago, I am getting tired of the constant shitflinging that she gets. Have you ever been in agreement with a group, but then someone says something in the group that is clearly, and easily disprovable, but the group just agrees with it? I noticed that recently in one of the anti threads. I ignored it at first since this is /vt/ and that shit happens all the time, but it has happened at least 3 times in these these threads recently and people just outright believe them. And this is making me wonder if I have done the same thing in the past. I mean, I don't watch her, so if some anons say something false about her and I already don't like her, would I actually do anything to see if it's true? Hell, people do this to my oshi on occasion and it makes me a bit upset. And you can probably see where I am going with this. I am currently wondering if at least some of the things I've believed about Kiara is actually false, and I've been judging her personality too harshly.

On top of this, the outfit that she had in her new song is absolutely pure sex. It is one of the most attractive designs I have seen in a vtuber. Also, when I found her roommate's account, it was surprisingly cute and endearing. I'm now subscribed to that channel, and I hope she makes more videos on there.

Having said all of this, I'm not sure what to say. I definitely don't magically like her now and still dislike many things about her, but I kind of want to give her a shot despite all of this.

Can someone please recommend me any sort of streams that would portray her in her best light for me to judge if I may choose to start watching her? Also, if anybody feels up to it, I am free to hear perspectives from her fans as to why they like her. I've never really tried to have a reasonable discussion with KFP before. Kiara doesn't necessarily need an extroverted person, she needs someone that at least attempts to match her energy and what she tries to do in collabs, its just an extroverted person would be more likely to do this. Ina and Gura seem to be pretty good matches for her in EN. Ina at least tries to hit back what Kiara serves up banter wise, and Gura seems to be able to mesh well with who she is collabing with.

JP I think are just more use to banter or at least knowing they are trying to entertain people during collabs. A small example would be the recent Watame, Nene, Botan collab. In the beginning when they were starting Mario Party Kiara yells "PARTY PARTY PARTY!". I can imagine if it was an EN collab it would either be only Kiara saying it, or one or two others joining in; but with JP they all jump in with "PARTY PARTY PARTY" as well.

She joined Hololive to be an idol and had some hopes that they would help her with her goal to make more idol music. Cover obviously has other goals than she does, so they conflicted in this case. Is Kiara stuck with this level of English proficiency forever? Her accent is relatively strong and she mispronounces the same words again and again. I still respect her for being able to speak 3 languages. She is clearly talented, but this is just something that bothers me a bit. One of you ESLs are going to need to let me know what it's like. Once you learn the language, do you never actually work on the accent to sound more like a native speaker's? Though, this doesn't seem to be a Kiara only issue, it seems.

As far as proficiency goes, she'll probably be stuck in the same proficiency because, despite speaking in English all the time on stream, she isn't actually speaking it with others regularly enough in order for it to improve. She's also not reading books or doing any sort of activity that would hypothetically be beneficial to her vocabulary. She's also not really interested in improving her English because she's a weeb and, if she could, she'd rather speak in Japanese all the time.

The key issues regarding accent are repetition and learning experience.
As a German, in school it was common to be reminded daily how to pronounce English words.
However as soon as one graduates school the pronunciation of English will deteriorate rapidly.
because accents are based on mouth and tongue muscles that need to be trained to work unconsciously speaking German day by day is basically deleting that muscle memory.
Repetition is not a problem with kiara but she is effectively not learning pronunciations correctly and basically stuck with her accent.
(Still by Mountain German standards quite good actually)
