That's it, it was Dokibird who took the extreme route of self-harming and implying that Nijisanji did this to her, so now her actions have affected the other livers who need to make a living. I'll only say this, the main reason I didn't believe they would suspend (and then ultimately terminate) her over the Cover/MV, was because it would be fucking stupid for a business like theirs to do something that would ultimately tank whatever remained of their reputation. So it overall sounded a bit far fetched to me at the time.

The main difference people forget is that Zaion largely did a lot to screw herself over (I still remember how most of her VODs kept getting privated), and wasn't even around for long enough for many people to care. And while I thought her treatment was really unfair, I also mainly chalked it up as someone being completely unprepared for Corpo life back then.
Meanwhile, Selen was one of the biggest and most beloved livers of their EN Branch who's contributed so much to her own branch and wider Vtubing community. Unpopular opinion, but I mostly agree with you over this incident. I think the permission difficulties were legal.

Management was fucking around and took way too long, she thought everything was good just getting email permissions, but they probably had to do more.

She raged out and jumped the gun, releasing a video too early and opening anyc up to legal liability which is why they took it down.

In this incident Selen was probably more in the wrong.

However, everything to do with the corporate handling at every level seems to be a dumpster bonfire. I truly don’t understand how the company can take a massive chunk of their talents earnings while also restricting them with NDA and IP while providing literally next to no management for the talents at the same time. They really are profiting massively and rather than providing resources and assistance to the talents, they instead actively impede their creativity at every turn it seems like. This is why she jumped the gun releasing the song, she felt it would never happen due to the history of management ranging from apathetic to hostile.

Selen did wrong, but niji impossible to work with.

She had perms in August 2022, FFS! It cost her $15K to make, was a Christmas gift to her fans, and a parting message to her friend Pomu, the other big liver who recently left because they had their dreams crushed by these same assholes.

The way that Niji frames the termination notice, it doesn't appear the bullying and the MV incident have anything to do with each other. Further they are saying it was other talents bullying her, pretty much guaranteeing a witch hunt, when they didn't have to bring it up at all, as if they want to turn the fans on each other to save themselves.

If that wasn't bad enough they revealed that they posted as Selen on her twitter - the "I'm okay" post being made while her socials were suspended. So not only can we not know if a 'vacation' is a stealth suspension or not, we can't even know if the talent's tweets are fake or not.

Niji has consistently shot down the efforts of its talents at every turn. They shut down Selen rewarding artists out of her own pocket, her tournaments, her fall guys thing, and the same can be said of Pomu, where she was crushed at every turn. ...and of course the whole AR live thing that was a blow to all the talents.

And we can say Pomu was smart enough to leave before she got fired - BUT SO WAS SELEN - she offered to part amicably on the 26th, but instead Anycolor, once again choosing black, said "YOU CAN'T QUIT! YOU'RE FIRED!"... A message they never delivered to her personally, instead informing her through the twitter termination notice. So instead of a nice quiet graduation, they decided to turn the entire western world against them, and all their fans against each other.

Nevermind all the shit other talents that have left NijiEN have revealed about the company. 2% merch shares, confiscated play buttons, and all. From their reports it's like the company is actively seeking to demoralize their talents.

And you can talk about the slave mentality of Japan, but if they were aware of even half of the shit that's been going on at NijiEN, most of them would be turning on the company as well. (Or at least the branch, but I suppose they already are, after a fashion.) Hopefully some people who can read moon runes will help enlighten them.

This company, or at least this branch, has moved from incredibly incompetent to outright evil, and anyone who can defend this shit is either a troll or simply entirely ignorant as to what is going on there.
