I don't think I'd drop them, but I also think it's not a coincidence that none of the ones who do this are ones I regularly watch. It's just not the kind of thing I'm interested in watching. If they were talking about some real actress all the time and how much they love her, it would sound uninteresting to me as well.
Talking about their favorite anime and characters is fun, lusting after specific people isn't. It's ok when it's between members because I already care about both of them, I don't care about Random Person X.
