Not holo vs holo thread

They say that 60% of what cover reported to pay their talents last year went to the top 20 most profitable holomems, but who are those 20? I don't really pay attention to numbers but I recently fell into the temptation of looking at numbers thread and couldn't avoid getting surprised by how much Fuwamoco makes, Gura is far more popular and used to get more viewers when active, but her SC stats are way lower than FWMC. Are those two going to claim the throne as the holomems who make the most money?

Note aside, how does Cloe make that much too? Don't know a lot about her besides stinky orca.

What do you think could be the perfect formula to be a holo that makes 300k yen per stream as fuwamoco does? Would you feel bad if you were in the place of those holomems who don't make a quarter of what the other generate?

SC is not that relevant these days anon especially since one of the top most profitable Holo is Suisei when she has low SC but sold a fuck ton of merchs.

This is bait, but in case you or anyone else is new then see image
Livestreaming on average accounts for ~32% of the revenue holomems generate, that includes SC and memberships (potentially ad revenue as well they're not to clear on that).
On the other hand merch sales on average account for ~40% of the total revenue they generate.

People over inflate the importance of SC because it's the number they can see, but the members in the top 20 are there because of the amount of merch they sell.
When we were able to get merch sales numbers multiple members including: Miko, Pekora, Suisei, were pulling over $1 million in a single merch run.
Gura's Taiwan sushi collab has generated over $1 million in the first week

for cover, yes. this says nothing about each individual girl.
I do agree that merch IS always the number one seller. With fuwaMoco their SC numbers are a good indicator of their income since every time the noombers come out, it's revealed that they BOTH sell the most merch in Advent (not shitting on Advent, I love the other girls)

Looking solely at SCs is too narrow, though it’s usually a good indicator of how much a fanbase is willing to spend on other stuff. Gura is an exception to that. Dino Gura is Cover’s bestselling merch, after all. SC revenue is also affected by other factors, such as overall stream hours, and how the talent reacts to them (reading every single one vs. picking some out during the stream for interesting discussion topics, and there’s a bit of inertia when switching from one to the other).

Not really. There are those who don't get as much from SC, yet their merchs still sell decently - and vice versa. The more time a Holo is willing to spend on SC reading, the more SC they get.
For example, Kiara has been either leading or being #2 in Myth when it comes to SC for years. Yet she has been consistently the weakest in merch sales among them.

>> No.70278929

SC's are just a metric. For example, Gura has a lot of memberships. She is also racking likely the largest ammount of ad revenue per stream, due to her high VOD views. Is hard to say who is top 20, because it also need to include merch sales, and sponsorships. Koyori is Hololive's current whale when it comes to SC's, followed by Chloe and Marine. And with how much she streams, she also get's lots in add revenue. Looking at how much they put on her, Gura is likely a high top earner, but mainly from merch and sponsorships. Mori and Suisei too, move a lot, especially with their music, but when it comes to Cali, most of her music revenue goes to her label, rather than to Cover. Marine, Pekora and Miko are also high earners - Pekora, is the most SC vtuber in the world now, if we no longer count Rushia and Coco. Subaru is also surprisingly popular. Noel is also a high end earner. But beyond that, is hard to say how popularity shifted over the years. Nene, Matsuri, Nakiri, Kiara, Okayu - all 5 earned way over a million dollar in SC's since debuting, and had many gachikoi's in the past. But I am not sure where they stand now.

This one is incorrect. You are right about the first, but you are omitting that the truly notable outliers are 1) actually extremely small in number and 2) half of them have their SC suffer because of personal circumstances- I.E. either streaming extremely sporadically or with SCs disabled, or even more situational outliers, like FROMsoft game spam(taso...). And to further pick on my latter example there, Kanata is actually an SC behemoth when she isn't actively gimping herself.
Generally speaking, good merch sales do not imply high SC revenue. However, high SC revenue, based on the deluge of figures that has been forcibly osmosis'd into my brain by catching stays from numberfags over years of spending too much fucking time here, has ALWAYS correlated to significant revenue from merch as well. That doesn't mean that the highest SC earner is also the best merch seller, of course- only that if somebody is consistently among the top SC earners, they are also consistently in the upper end of merch revenue as well.
TL;DR the merch/SC dichotomy is one-way.

Mind elaborating?
Even Bae, the so-called runt of Promise, was making $220K from a single (1) birthday merch wave. That's roughly 4-5 months worth of SC for FWMC who are earning the most SC in EN (I'm not even bother dividing it by half yet). While SC isn't meaningless per se, it isn't much in the big picture when each Holo member gets between 2-4 big merch waves per year (not counting smaller waves).
And I'm not even talking about the kind of Gura's $1.5M+ merch wave...
