Hollywood and TV show representing fathers are useless or moronic or both for comedic purposes really helps looking down on fathers specifically
The lack of small community because the land is vast and disconnected or people are packed in cities with strangers is also an issue as it makes dissolving families and hiding on the commute to work easier then living in way a walkable euro city or the old west where the land was just as vast but running away from family was not as much as an option

This was brought up earlier but girls with a good father, even a distanced divorced one won't have the same vibe as someone with no father at all, the bad father who beats his kids is not a character you will find often in this hobby
You'll find wacky mothers much more often in the parents of chuuba than an abusive father
