Dragon's Dogma is a wild ride, but let me spell this out from what I remember for people who don't know with this expansion(skip if not interested):

Story is about people who are resurrected as Arisen by Dragon's stealing their hearts and having to kill the dragon to get it back as the basic premise, but Dark Arisen had a boy adopted by an Arisen, who ends up "winning" and her Pawn (the Arisen's otherworldly companions) gets her body as she ascends, the boy later on becomes Arisen and the Pawn with his adopted Mother's body he gets as his own, he falls in love with the Pawn, learns the truth about the Arisen I won't spoil and goes mad. So the song is particularly sad but also really kinda fucked up in that he weirdly fell in love with his mom
