The hard truth is that hololive would rather have a generation of five Kiaras over five Guras. They've constantly leaked this point of view with the second generation of ID and three generations of Holostars.
From a management perspective it's much better to have a stable, smaller holo. If she succeeds, she represents income for years; if she fails, she can be cut without a huge backlash. Much better than a star who blows up. Massive success is also vulnerability; if people thought the coco shit after departure was bad, gura rrats will be far worse when she leaves. The queen might be the most powerful piece in chess by far, but that power also forces you to protect it.
Even better, Kiara ensures continuity for both EN and JP as new generations come out and old generations retire, since she collabs with both and transitions fans over.
The only non-ideal thing? Kiara earns a little too much in SCs. You aren't feeding your golden goose for foie gras.
People think corporations prize profit, but more important than short-term profit is stability, because stability translates to more money in the long run.
