I remember way back in the day before Gen4 even debuted when the exact thing happened but with Fubuki at the undisputed number 1 and Aqua in second place with a strong lead over the third, which was the actual competitive place.
It still surprises me to see just how far has Fubuki fallen in terms of numbers compared to the others. a JRPG is the worst thing you can play on stream.
Even a normal RPG is still pretty bad. The games streamers have to play need pretty high content engagement. Even a text adventure game would be a better choice than JRPG.

I think the order of game is this:
- Multiplayer board games (via collab)
- Arcade game
- Weirdly Obscure games (bad or good)
- Fast paced online game (collab or otherwise)
- Action game
- Interesting Minecraft stream
- Adventure game
- Boring minecraft stream
- RPG
- JRPG
- MMO

The lower down you go onto the rung the more you enter niche territory. Obscure games itself is a niche too but people like novelty which is why I think it's fair to put it far higher (also I'm biased towards them)
