What initially drew me in was her design. Seeing the runes and hieroglyphs, also having that 'fantasy adventurer' look to her. Her lore was also interesting, a creation of human will rather than godly influence, although that was a minor bit. Then seeing her smile reply to Sana made me realize I had to at least watch her debut.

Her mentioning an interest in worldbuilding, city building games was a draw. Her music interest as well, when I heard Rome I knew I would need to watch more. Her voice also warmed an old, cold heart.

I'm starting to worry about the fact that she keeps playing games she has no idea about, and is barely able to play them and merely relies on the fact that her cluelessness ist endearing.
Is this just management mandating weird games? Is this her own plan? When is she going to play a game where it at least seems like she has played that type of game before?
Does she even play games? When she said she liked worldbuilding games, does it just mean that she liked watching her brother play minecraft?
And if she's only playing games because of this job, would that mean her supposed interest in history is perhaps just something she's picked up in order to fit the character? Is her history stream just going to be her opening a history book for the first time and saying "wow, that's really complicated, seems like a lot of stuff has happened"?

I like her, but I'm still missing a sign that she's got anything more than a passing interest in any of these themes.

It's her debut schedule so it was tailored around the theme, in one side I don't see the problem with her playing stuff she never touched, variety is good but in the other side I understand that everybody is curious to see her playing something she's already familiar with so our understanding of Mumei can increase, in any case, I bet week 2 will be more balanced in terms of games fitting her character and games that she already has some experience.

The model, the reveal, the speculations post-reveal, the model details discussions, the HOPIUM-COPIUM era of the general and now the way she acts from the start, her voice, the fanart overall, the perspective of future collabs with Fauna (much like Sana-Kronii yesterday, the dynamic between the two was great on Don't Starve)...

The best part is that, she is still a very mysterious character and there's a whole lot of potential to see. I don't expect today's stream to deliever a definite answer on the character side of things but the entertaining factor will be definitely there.

You shouldn't have put the old poll in there, just the new one.
>Renaissance
There are a lot of interesting stuff in the Neolithic, Calcolithic and Iron Age. If you think about it, people voted for the things they know, so an alternative reading of the poll might be to do those. First it'd provide fresh content to most people (who know very little about that timeframe) and second it would minimize the number of smartasses in chat.

While Runes and Hieroglyphics are nice and all, are they universal enough to represent all of human civilization? The Mediterrians, Persians, Mesopotamians, Sinosphere and Indians all deserve as much as the Nordics and Egyptians, you know. Like, especially with the nordic runes. Twitter might even cancel us for being nazis or something. You need something that almost all cultures had. Also, words in a flag kinda break flag rules, you need something more abstract. Some symbol that would represent us all well. Ah, I know, why not this ?

It’s interesting to consider that Western civilisation is native as opposed to imported from Mesopotamia.
(Not that Mesopotamia had no effect on Europe.)
I think people automatically exclude Europe as being the location of a possible cradle of civilisation akin to the Indus or Egypt because it’s proximity to other civilisations makes it unnecessary or because archeologists are xenophiles.
The funny thing is that these advanced stone age European civilisations are in fucking Romania, Serbia, Moldavia and Ukraine. Imagine telling a Serb nationalist that Serbia is the start of civilisation in Europe?

yeah I think it can be contributed to the relative isolation eastern europe/central asian steppes had during the bronze age and therefore other civilisations didn't write much about them. also the density of artifacts is probably lower that around the mediterranean where people have traded and lived for thousands of years.
the oddest thing is that eastern european ancient cultures bypassed western europe and just went south via turkey and greece, and then went into western europe via the romans

Genuinely not sure, it’s a continuing area of anthropological and archaeological debate.
I think Greek Linear A and Linear B may have some Vinca influence, and this Greek influence then effected early Phoenician writing possibly.

>Eastern European cultures bypassed West Europe
Not exactly, the Celtic and Germanic peoples were in direct contact with the Scythians, Sarmatians and Daco-Thracian peoples.
Going back further, the Yamnaya culture from Ukraine expanded and replaced the preexisting cultures of Western Europe during the early Bronze/Cooper Age

Honestly a great idea.
AOE2 does have some historical inaccuracies due to gameplay or bad research (the devs admitted that the earliest designed campaigns were meant to be historical “what if” scenarios) but the later campaigns and usually solid and the narrative story telling would give Mumei a lot of material to work with. Different campaigns have different challenges and restrictions so there’s opportunities for chat interaction if Mumei doesn’t mind asking for help or attempts at backseating.

found this youtube comment about chalcolithic european people:
>They didn't have the "idea of state". It seems that technology of construction was crucial: Population, agriculture to feed them, walls (preferably stone) to store the food and strategic materials = monopoly = state) + bronze=weapons. It seems that pyramids were the global advertisement for state. They appear wherever there were states, like some giant political factories. Europe is practically the only civilized continent where there are no pyramids. Of course - family, as matriarchy, is very important in creation of "civilization" and social divisions and hierarchy.
