Not in raw numbers but that's to be expected by now. NijiEN are going to take a very long time to grow their audience to that level, but they're still doing exceptionally well by their own merit.

In terms of talent? Maybe, but it's not really all that important. More Holos and Nijis means more variety when I'm doing work and assignments. The one thing I care about is how well they can hold a stream together and I think all of NijiEN (Yes, even Petra in recent weeks) have done a really great job at it.

If it's the speculated 4 people (Lyrica, Hana, Marie, and Shannon), then at the very least we know Wave 3 mog pretty much the whole industry in musical talent.

I say this as a Nijisanji fan, but vtubing as we know it declining in general is more likely than NijiEN overtaking HoloEN.

Hololive built up huge name recognition in 2020 thanks to the JP branch and EN having perfect timing. That's not gonna be replicated by anyone.

One of the council members could literally do a stream where she just stares at the camera for like an hour and she'd have above 10k views. That's just how big the fanbase is.

NijiEN has drawn their fanbase mostly from the relatively few western Nijisanji fans, indie fans, and the minority of HoloEN fans who know that vtubers outside of Hololive exist.

NijiEN's best bet is establishing themselves as a solid but distant second in the EN market. Their main "rival" for that position is VShojo. I don't think anyone at Anycolor is under the allusion that they can mog off or dethrone HoloEN.
