Ina: Gamer

Irys: Gamer but no Ina

Reine: Actually good

Ollie: is more lucky than you'd believe
Kiara: tryharded for days to be something and ended up 5th
Gura: pretty good esp. since she was sick
Amelia: Salt does not power engines
Mori: lowest EN without surprise, but she managed herself much better than expected
Anya: bad
Moona: too autistic for funracing
Risu: Searched for nuts outside of the race track
Iofi: is too busy talking 6 languages to game

Also there are 2 well split groups:
Good (Irys, Reine, Ollie, Kiara, Gura)
Poor (Amelia, Mori, Anya, Moona, Risu)

And 2 absurds with Ina 163p out of possible 12 races * 15 points = 180p and Lowfi with 13 points = last on every race but one

im not sure how it was for the others
i was watching ame and
most races she spent the first lap or two in 3rd or 4th
only to finish in 8th or 9th
her drifting definitely needs work though
it shows that she never practiced and doesnt play the game

Seems accurate. I was pleasantly surprised by Gura's performance, but Ina took the crown and the crowd. Kiara's gonna host another one around December, right? It seems like IRyS gonna grind hard for that #1, so we might get another Suisei's story line. The girls were too nice in this collab. I want to see a lot more banters. Kiara giving awards to everyone was such a millennial moment.

Cus Mario kart is TRASH at explaining game mechanics which give SUPER advenatg.
If you would watch ID almost non of them press jump button for jump boost on speed which is most basic speed boost in game. I won't even start talking about more advance drift speed boosting ect.

It's exactly like fighting game. Casuals will NEVER be even close to winning against someone who understand basics of game like simple negative frames on block.

I was watching IRyS and thought she was playing bad but a bit like me (keeping items for too long and so on). She js a casual and needs a lot more practice. Still she was 2nd best. a game shouldn't have to teach you everything the second you lift up the controller and play for the first time ever. Part of the incentive to continue playing a game would be removed right from the get go. You don't play DMC3, Megaman X, or Mario 64 and know how to play as well as someone who has played it for 1 year. Learn as you go, it was a tournament as well and some of them didn't practice so they're not gonna perform well as is.

>> No.8790550

Actually those games have very good tutorials.
I think you missing the point of practising the skills which game told you and give you to your disposal with the secret mechanics which you can't really learn yourself even by practise.
And nintendo trash games are the worst crime with that like a lot of fighting games though for exmaple Tekken 7 added pretty good tutorial on mechanics lately. So you can actually learn and practise.

>> No.8790850

>>8790550
That's fair, you meant that the game itself lacks a way to instruct the player. Tutorials would be the best route to go about it, unless mario kart introduces a sandbox stage with objects and obstacles that encourage the different mechanics.

How would Ina fare against Aqua/Suisei?

>> No.8792614

>>8791591
That's how Mario Kart is designed. It's made to fuck over the people in 1st or 2nd place so it's almost always better to hand back in third but not distant third for the first 2/3rd of the race and then pull out all of the stops for the finish.
It's made specifically for this strategy
You even get better items the further behind you are, so third place actually has a chance to get boos, piranha plants, and bullet bills. Ollie got screwed over in last lap almost entirely because of this rule, and Ina apparently knows enough about MK to exploit that.

>> No.8792919

>>8789093
Ollie can become good if she wants to. The last 2 games showed she could get 1st place against Ina if she tried. If she and Reine go on a training arc they could be a serious threat to Ina and Irys.

video games, by definition, are made to take your time; not be skillful at them. Being skillful at them is a side effect of having your time taken.

>> No.8793659

But there's no skill in Mario Kart.
It's very specifically designed where the best player doesn't have any significant chance of winning.

You are saying it like she did bad, she could barely make a curve 2 days ago. She improved a lot. She could get better if she keeps playing. She's obviously not going to reach ina and irys with just a few days of playing

>>8794121
It's weird but look at the distribution of items depending on what place you are. It's favorable to remain behind until the last lap.
Really good players online will intentionally slow down to 'farm' items and then catch back up if they know a tricky part is coming up that will squeeze the racers together like a hairpin.
