Model costs vary pretty heavily depending on the artists + riggers commissioned.
Sponsorship/advertising campaign info is ALSO something that has never been specifically stated, so any information there is speculative.

-If you manage to join Hololive, it's a trade off of some freedoms for a much, much, MUCH larger audience and far bigger pie, even if you have to give up a portion of that as compensation. 50% of $100,000 is better than 100% of $1000 after all.
Games permissions issues nearly destroyed Hololive before(Do your goddamn reps on the Copyright Arc). If someone comes along and says "Oh, they're so restricted with games permissions" without understanding that refusal to obtain EXPLICIT permissions can lead to huge issues as a company can easily come along and copyright strike. If even one channel among all the Hololive talents gets taken down by copyright stirkes, ALL OF THEM are at risk due to it since they're all affiliated.
"But why do Twitch streamers get away with it all the time" you ask? Because the corps don't fucking care about some schmuck with 50 viewers, and for the larger ones the western game companies see it as free advertising! Pretty insane for Mumei to get 19k today for her 3rd actual stream, but from what I've seen, I think she might struggle to get 10k next stream.

She bled viewers quite quickly after an hour, since she didn't say much at all the whole stream and couldn't fill dead air as well as Ina (which tbf, not many can). The art was good, but for an art streamer, you need to be able to talk and draw at the same time, or else it becomes dreadfully boring. Mumei might not be ready to do these types of streams yet where there's no game interaction to comment on or to launch her into a tangent to talk about.

Still, the potential for Mumei is there. Despite some mixed reception, a lot of people in /hlgg/ still enjoyed her stream. She's just going to be a work in progress for a while imo.

This seems to be based almost exclusively on Hololive. There are many vtubers companies out there. Almost none of them pay a base salary. Some of them will let you buy out your model when you leave. Some don't have any managerial staff to speak of other than maybe the owner. Streaming minimum can vary wildly 3 times a week is on the heavier side, most vtubers do it part time not as a career, even corporate ones. With advertising it's often an opt-in arrangement, if you want to get in on the campaign (and earn money) you can. The games restriction can vary, smaller companies and Twitch streamers tend to take their chances and worry less about permissions. Same with collabs, many companies will let you collab with whoever you can manage to network with.

It's sort of like saying "this is how Google is run, corporations work like this".

Look, no smart western company is going to go scorched earth policy on permissions because they aren't looking to destroy their reputation by being overzealous. Nintendo went ham for a period of time, and their rep is still pretty bad despite having backed off on all but fangames using their IP.
Most nonJP companies understand that having streamers okay your games is free advertising, so they aren't going to waste their time just to tank their rep.
It's just Hololive was made an example of because
