Only way to save the game is to fix things like limitless shares, shares appearing and disappearing and too big dividends. After these issues have been fixed, reset. It is the only way.

Because Leaderboard position isn't just time, it's Autism Over Time. In all my years of game design, I have never encountered anything as true as this: real autism will always find a way. The game could literally be "push this button" and autists would show up within a week or two trying to figure out the most optimal way to press the button.
Shitters will always be exactly that: Shitters. Shitters can't be helped. Due diligence is easier than it's ever been and even if you EXCLUSIVELY look at NASFAQ to get your numbers, patterns exist and will always exist. The Brap Cycle will exist as long as Mori is still an active Holo, for example. A quick skim of the wiki is all you need to know for debut anniversaries and birthdays to be on lock, just buy dips in the month leading in. If you can't even beat the hard oshicoiners, you weren't making the Top 20 even if there was a reset.

The only thing that's needed is to mark dead accounts on the leaderboard that haven't played in over 2 weeks. That way newfags can know when they've crawled over most of the corpses and are actually playing the game now. Clearly defined goals are the easiest way to get new players engaged. Prime early expectations, set the player up for a chain of success, and get them used to the core gameplay loop. Once you do that, they'll figure out the rest themselves.

The issue here seems more like getting to the top positions shouldn't be the only reason to play the game. There's always going to be a top 20.
The fact is, the core of the game is that money makes more money. So the top is always going to be pulling away from the bottom.
You can eliminate that by thinking of a completely different game where everyone gets, say, only 10 million at the beginning of the week and can do whatever they like with it. At the end of the week, your net worth increase is added to your 'score'. That's basically a seasonal game, though. Is that really the kind of game you want to play? Where you have no attachment to your coins - and eventually the same kind of whining will start up again because the top of the all-time leaderboard has far too much score from 'early rounds'? It's an arithmetic progression now instead of a geometric one, but the same thing is going to hold true if 'catching up' is the important thing.
No lie, I can see how a seasonal mode can be fun. But then you lose the whole aspect of oshicoining and long term coin accumulation.
